Asian acrylonitrile prices continued to firm, as the ongoing shortage of spot supplies and dearer main feedstock propylene, resulted in spot prices pushing north. Week on week, CFR Far East Asia prices were assessed up 0.7% or $15/mt to $2,305/mt, while Southeast Asian prices gained 0.9% or $20/mt to $2,310/mt. South Asian prices gained 0.7%, or $15/mt, to $2,315/mt, as competition for scarce resources from Europe and the US grew more acute, while existing inventories are only expected to last until January.
