US ACN traders remained bullish this week as fears grew over pending tight supplies in October. “Supply is coming out in September and October,” a trading source said this week. “We’re expecting 10% of global supply — at least — to be off-line then.” Other sources have said about 15% of global supply will be off-line for turnarounds in October, which sent buyers into the market hoping to cover themselves for the next two months. The shift higher was in contrast to the start of August, when prices were falling as global supplies appeared to be lengthening. “The price has kicked up a bit after it found the bottom,” the source said. “For the near-term, generally there is pressure to raise prices.
