YARN: Prices continued rising on the back of tight supply and strong Chinese domestic prices. Haldia Petrochemicals reported selling parcels over 100mt at $1,340/mt CFR China, while Zhejiang Futures reported selling a 150mt cargo at $1,350/mt FOB Shanghai of Thailand origin. In the Chinese domestic market, ex-warehouse offers were at Yuan 11,600/mt ($1,369/mt import parity basis). Industry players said that they expected yarn-grade supply to remain tight in line with the onset of the peak demand season, which occurs in the second quarter of this year. Meanwhile, regional suppliers choose to maintain limited yarn-grade , as the production focus among manufacturers is increasingly being turned onto pipe-grade production. INJ/BLMDG: Injection and blow molding grade cargoes are being priced at a steep discount to yarn and film grade cargoes as demand from key import regions such as China and India still remains weak.
