European spot ethylene market held on to firm prompt fundamentals this week, lending further support from persistent buying interest. Spot values remained firm at Eur845-850/mt ($1,179/mt) FD NWE levels. Cracker reliability issues, logistical constraints and good intake from ethylene derivatives continued to support prompt ethylene demand. The spot ethylene market saw much improved liquidity this week as a result. Five spot deals were reported done, all for prompt January delivery conditions.
