Spot free delivered polymer grade propylene prices for Northwest Europe comfortably held within the August contract price of Eur940/mt this week. Producers and consumers’ positions and inventories were broadly balanced, keeping the spot market fairly quiet over the week. “A lot of people are on holiday. It seems the market has stabilized,” one trader said, adding that he heard PGP prices in line with contract prices inland. On the coast, a source had received and rejected offers for PGP at Eur940/mt CIF NWE, and had claimed Eur920/mt CIF was a reasonable level.
