EDC: The Asian ethylene dichloride market continued weakening Thursday, with prices dropping $17/mt on the week. Buying appetite for spot EDC cargoes were diminishing amid bearish demand from downstream PVC and vinyl chloride monomer producers, who were set to cut plant runs on negative margins. EDC end-users also decided to take a wait-and-see attitude this week, expecting lower offers from the US in the near-term amid the bearish upstream ethylene market there.
