The US contract market is set to decrease in July another 5-6 cents/lb following $120/mt cuts in Asia Contract Prices for next month. The imminent decrease put a crimp in demand and made railcar sellers reduce their offers. In the beginning of June railcars were talked in the mid-40’s cents/lb FOB USG but were now offered in the low 40’s cents/lb FOB. Once new benchmarks are announced next week, railcar prices were expected to further decrease under 40 cents/lb.
