YARN: The polyethylene market was almost in a stalemate this week as both traders and buyers were on the sidelines looking for new price ideas from producers, who will announce their September prices next week. HDPE-yarn ended at $1,225/mt CFR Far East Asia Wednesday, $10/mt, or less than 1% higher on the week. In Southeast Asia, the price was up $10/mt similarly to end at $1,235/mt CFR basis. A trader in China was offering a cargo at $1,230/mt CFR China, while a Thai producer offered at the same price. A local trader offered domestic cargo at Yuan 10,300/mt ($1,216/mt on import parity) with little buying interest. Sinopec was offering ex-works cargoes at Yuan 10,800/mt. INJ/BLMDG: Both grades rolled over on the week for Far East Asia as demand remained flat. They ended at $1,120/mt CFR FE Asia. Elsewhere, they were up $5/mt on the week to end at $1,140/mt CFR SE Asia.
