Polystyrene supplies remained tight as Americas Styrene’s Torrence, California, production plant remained off line, sources said. Calls to America’s Styrenics seeking confirmation about the plant outage — and any potential problems delivering product — were not returned this week. Sources in the market, though, said the plant — which has 2 lines producing 245 million lbs/year of polystyrene — was not expected back up until the middle of February.
