The Asian PVC market fell this week on low demand. The CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia markers were down $5/mt week on week Wednesday at $1,111/mt and $1,116/mt, respectively, while the CFR India price fell $5/mt over the same period to $1,141/mt. Taiwan-origin cargoes for September delivery were under discussion after offers were announced at $1,120-1,130/mt CFR China last Wednesday. South Korean producers offered at $1,130/mt CFR China, while Japanese producers offered at $1,150/mt CFR China. Few buying enquiries were heard from Chinese buyers this week, with one bid heard at $1,100/mt CFR China. Upstream, feedstock ethylene prices slumped $15/mt week on week to $1,156/mt CFR Northeast Asia. In domestic China, prices remained unchanged from previous week on stable demand. The ethylene-based PVC price was assessed at Yuan 8,275/mt, equating to $1,027/mt on an import parity basis, while the carbide-based PVC price was assessed at Yuan 7,825/mt. In India, South Korean-origin cargoes were heard done at $1,140- 1,150/mt CFR India.
