EDC: European ethylene dichloride price fell to $440/mtFOB NWE this week from $473.50/mt FOB NWE as Julydemand was scarce, according to market sources. “Demandis pretty weak,” a source said Thursday. Another sourceagreed adding that demand in July was usually not strong.Upstream, the drop in July’s ethylene contract price saw sources comment on the attractiveness of spot comparedwith contract volumes. Spot prices were assessed atEur850/mt FD NWE Thursday down Eur45/mt on the week.Ethylene supply was heard long with cracker run ratesreduced to 80-85%.
