Northwest European paraxylene fully settled its August contract price for August at Eur1,120/mt ($1,593/mt) FD NWE, an increase of Eur95/mt compared with the July settlement. The settlement is in line with market expectations of a Eur100/mt increase in the August contract price based on higher values in Asia for both the contract price and the spot market and also higher spot values in Europe. The August Asian PX contract price settled Friday at $1,540/mt CFR, an increase of $140 from the July settlement.
