NEA: Prices were flat from Thursday, but were up $10/mt on the week to settle at $1,021/mt CFR NEA Friday. Spot buying appetite in Taiwan remained firm for monoethylene glycol production but demand from other locations, such as China, remained scarce. In addition, spot buying in Taiwan was limited to the Mailiao area. An ethylene end-user in Kaohsiung said its ethylene tanks will be full after the arrival of a 3,000- 3,500 mt Saudi Arabian cargo in the second half of September. Buying indication this week in Kaohsiung was at $970/mt CFR and it was firmer in Mailiao but end-users there were unwilling to pay more than $1,020/mt CFR due to rising supplies from the Middle East as well as Southeast Asia. NEA end-users expect Middle Eastern cargoes to find homes in NEA due to healthy inventory levels in SEA.
