Despite a slowdown in the Asian demand and feedstock ethylene softening, September US PVC export prices climbed $40 this week. As August contracts have almost concluded, September buy prices were heard at $890/mt FAS Houston while offer ideas were at $900/mt. However, sources said that US producers continued to hold back product and building inventories to face the hurricane season. The CFR China price rose $6/mt on week and settled at $965/mt.
