Styrene buying interest declined this week as buy interest disappeared. The market was assessed at $1,274-1,276/mt, down $50/mt versus last week. This was the first time so far in 2010 that prices had been seen below $1,300/mt. The weakness in styrene this week has also affected production costs, with the benzene-styrene spread falling further below the $200/mt mark.
