The difference between European spot LDPE and LLDPE fell to a nine-month low of Eur80/mt Wednesday as LDPE pricestumbled. LLDPE spot prices were unchanged on the week atEur1,220-1225/mt, as interest emerged at these levels.However, LDPE prices shed Eur80/mt on the week, closing atEur1,300-1,305/mt Wednesday. Sources said that they hadexpected the difference to narrow, as it was not seen assustainable. LDPE and LLDPE are substitutes in certainpackaging applications, making a differential of thismagnitude problematic.
