GPPS: Asian spot markets remain muted in the face of poor demand for spot cargoes and weakening main feedstock styrene prices. With China closed for holidays over June 14-16 and market talk that producers would announce lower offers after the Dragon Boat holiday on June 16, buyers remained on the sidelines. Both CFR China/Southeast Asia prices fell $10/mt on the week at $1,185/mt, in line with styrene prices, which softened $9/mt to average $1,060.70/mt for June 10-16. Denka material was heard offered at $1,220-1,230/mt CFR China/Southeast Asia, although no bids or buying interest were reported over the holiday period. In Southeast Asia, PTT was offering GPPS at $1,250/mt CFR China/Southeast Asia, although buying ideas were heard at “well below $1,200/mt.”
