Hong Kong-Chinese state-controlled oil giant PetroChina Dec 30 announced the start of commercial operation at its 4,000-km natural gas pipeline which runs from China's western border to its eastern coastal regions.The 12-bil cu m/year (1.16 Bcf/day) pipeline originates at Lunnan in the Tarim gas field in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the northwest,and runs through provinces and regions such as Gansu,Ningxia,Sha'anxi,Shanxi,Henan,Anhui,Jiangsu,Zhe-jiang,before reaching its final station of Baihe town in Shanghai.
