A threatened strike that would have shut down nearly 1-mil b/d of Norway's offshore production was averted late Junn 21 as bargainers reached a last-minute settlement.But production prob-terns hampered output at a number of fields in UK and Norwegian waters. A Norwegian state-appointed mediator helped forge a deal after a two-day arbitration process started June 20 between Lcdernc,the union representing managers and supervisors,and the Oil Industry Association.
