EnCana moved to douse heated takeover rumors Oct 20 a day after Toronto's Globe & Mail reported the Canadian upstream independent rejected an offer of up to us65/share from Royal Dutch Shell,and that Shell might sweeten it to us70.EnCana issued an afternoon statement declaring it "is not aware of any intention by any party to make an offer" for all of EnCana,"nor is EnCana in discussions with any party" to sell the company.
