London-OPEC is likely to increase crude production in response to Hurricane Katrina when ministers meet in Vienna Sep 19-20 despite what appears to be ample supply in world oil markets,say senior OPEC officials.Separately,OPEC member Kuwait said it approved 500-mil of humanitarian aid for the US,including an unspecified volume of gasoline and other refined products to ease fuel shortages in the wake of Hurricane Katrina."Given the current situation,it seems the oil exporters' organization will decide to increase the production quota in the next meeting," Javad Yarjani,head of OPEC affairs at the Iranian oil ministry,told the ministry's news agency Shana Sep 5."Though there is no crude oil shortage in the market...it seems OPEC members would agree with increasing the production quota."
