US refiners continue to chum out distillate

Historically high distillate prices continued to give US refiners an economic incentive to ramp up production last week at the expense of gasoline output,data from the Department of Energy showed Apr 20.Distillate production on a four-week moving average was 4.052-mil b/d as of Apr 15,compared with 3.625-mil b/d one year ago,an increase of 427,000 b/d.By comparison,distillate demand on a four-week moving average was 4.246-mil b/d,or 206,000 b/d above year ago levels.
