Nigerian National Petroleum Corp,the state owned oil company,is to take over oper-atorship of six oilfields with combined reserves of about 457-mil bbl in the Niger Delta from Shell and ChevronTexaco as part of a policy to increase domestic control of Nigeria's oil sector.NNPC subsidiary Nigerian Petroleum Development Co,which is responsible for the group's upstream operations,said Mar 30 it reached an agreement with Shell to operate three fields,Orogho,Egbeme West and Uta-pake,and with ChevronTexaco to take over the Aroh,Oghareki and Yorki South fields.
