Iraq may hit 3-mil b/d by year-end: Cheney

Iraqi oil fields, though in poor condition, could produce 2.5- to 3-mil b/d by the end of the year with some fresh investment for repairs and upgrades, US Vice President dick Cheney said Apr 9. Cheney, in a question and answer session following a speech to the American Society of Newspaper Editors in New Orleands, said Iraq's output could reach on "the order of 2.5-3-mil b/d, hopefully, by the end of the year."
