BP plans to sell its 2% equity stake in China's largest oil producer PetroChina for some US1.6-bil in a public offering set to triple its initial investment.BP acquired the stake of 3.5-bil shares for US578-mil when 10% of PetroChina was floated on international markets in early 2000.
