The US military late Jan 21 took additional steps to oust Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root as a buyer of fuel supplies to serve civilian needs in Iraq.The Pentagon's fuel procurement arm,the Defense Energy Support Center,opened two more contracts for bidding,one contract to supply the DESC with 3.24-mil bbl of fuel destined for the people of southern Iraq,and a second contract to truck fuel into southern Iraq from Kuwait.
