BP selling just a trickle of forties crude stream

BP's share of the UK's key Forties, crude stream will fall by some 5% following the sale of the Forties oil field to US-based Apache, a BP spokeswoman said Jan 13. The 48,000 b/d Forties field in the central North Sea is wholly owned by BP, but the major currently controls 25 to 30% of the crude in the Forties blend. The Forties system takes crude from over 20 UK North Sea fields, shipping an average 800,000 b/d to an onshore terminal at Cruden Bay in northeast Scotland by pipeline.
