Woodside in sales deal for Blacktip gas

Woodside Petroleum said June 6 it has signed a heads of agreeemtn to sell natural gas from the undeveloped Blacktip field in the Bonaparte Gulf to Alcan's alumina refinery and bauxite mine at Gove in Australia's Northern Territory. The deal is the latest blow to the prospects for the ExxonMobil-led Papua New Guinea-to-Queensland gas pipeline project, which is believed to have been courting Alcan as a potential customer.
