OPEC May 21 claimed success for its market management efforts, sayng the introduction of its US22-28/bbl price band in March 2000 had helped it to respond to changes in world oil market conditions and to increase oil market stability. It said the OPEC crude basket had averaged US25.30/bbl since the band was introduced.
