Crude prices could soar way above of50/bbl depending on how much oil is removed from world markets in the event of a US-led war with Iraq, former Saudi oil minister Zaki Yamani said Mar 14. Yamani told reporters in London that the extent of an oil price surge would depend on a number of factors, including the volume of any release of strategic stocks by consumer governments and whether oil supplies were halted or disrupted not only from Iraq but also neighboring oil producing countries.
