California panel rejects plan for Gulf line

California Energy Commission staff has recommended against construction of a new Gulf Coast-California products pipeline to ease supply constraints, while pushing for support of the beleaguered Longhorn Pipeline. CEC staff called completion of Lonhorn 'a key stepo toward enabling greater reliance on Gulf Coast refineries for increased (direct or indirect) supply of motor fuels to California."
