Strong US crude demand supports NWE tanker rates

Strong US demand for North Sea and West African crudes continued to support trans-Atlantic Suezmax tanker rates, sources said Thursday. Rates for shipping 1-mil bbl crude stems from the North Sea were heard at Worldscale 155, 45 points up from a week ago, while rates for shipments out of West Africa were talked 50 points higher at w160, shipping sources said.
