Russia boosted oil exports: OPEC

London-OPEC said May 21 that Russia boosted crude exports in the first quarter of this year, despite a pact with OPEC and several other producers to curb exports by 150,000 b/d. "Recent customs data shows that crude oil exports rose sharply in the first quarter of 2002, despite an understanding, with OPEC to crub supply," OPEC's Vienna secretariat said in its latest Monthly Oil Market Report released May 21, just days after Moscow's May 17 announcement that it would not maintain its six-month cut beyond June and would gradually boost volumes over the next two months (OPR 5/20).
