China’s central bank added 5 mt toits gold reserves in August, the same as July,data released by the People’s Bank of Chinashowed Wednesday.Total gold holdings now stand at 1,833mt, making it the world’s sixth-largest holderof gold reserves, according to theInternational Monetary Fund, behind the US,Germany, the IMF itself, Italy and France.
