Some zinc buyers this weeksaid they were pricing material for the balanceof the year, but said they don’t want toconclude a deal until they secure forwardpurchases of special high-grade at premiumsbelow the 7-cent mark.“If we can get under 7 cents, we’ll startbuying for the [second half] of the year,” saida Midwestern alloyer. “But we haven’t hadthat opportunity yet. [Sellers] want a littlemore for the forward buys, [with offers at]7.5, 7.25, and maybe 7 cents.” He added,“Anything less than 7 cents is a good deal.”
