China’s alumina output in 2016 isexpected to fall on the back of two refineryshutdowns recently in Henan and Shanxiprovinces, an analyst from state nonferrousinformation division, Beijing Antaike, told S&PGlobal Platts on August 19.Alumina output in 2016 is now likely toreach 58 million-59 million mt by the end ofthis year, down from an earlier forecast ofaround 61 million mt, the Antaike analystsaid. The latest forecast figure will be in linewith that achieved in 2015, but up around12% from the 52 million mt produced in 2014.
