Las Bambas startup lifts MMG’s Q1 copper output 48.7%

Copper production by internationalbase metals producer MMG soared to73,572 mt in the first quarter of the year, up48.7% from the 2015 period and 54.3% fromthe previous quarter, following the startup ofthe giant Las Bambas copper mine in Peru.In its Q1 quarterly operations reportreleased on April 21, MMG said consolidatedcopper output for the period included 38,057mt of copper cathode and 35,515 mt ofcopper-in-concentrates.
