China’s July SHFE copper, lead prices drop 13%, 2% on year

The Shanghai Futures Exchangerefined copper and lead futures prices averagedat Yuan 36,500/mt ($5,475/mt) andYuan 12,885/mt in July, down 13% and 2%year on year, the National Development andReform Commission said August 31.The price decline was attributed to theslowdown in the domestic market, supplyexceeding demand, as well as uncertaintiesin the global economy.
