Texas producers gear up to fight proposed reforms to Texas Railroad Commission

The president of the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers doesn’t think much of a set of sweeping proposals to reform the Texas Railroad Commission, including taking away its authority to conduct oil and gas hearings and calling for increased bonding requirements on producers. In an interview earlier this week, Alex Mills said the alliance would oppose many of the reforms promoted by the state’s Sunset Advisory Commission, which is putting forward its third plan in six years for updating the TRC.
