摘要

US steel prices have risen in recentmonths on the heels of trade cases filedby US steelmakers, but industry executivessaid it was a result of prices returning to a fairlevel and not because of protectionism.“I think it’s very dangerous to draw acorrelation between trade cases and claimsthat prices are rising very, very quickly,” saidNucor CEO John Ferriola, speaking toreporters at the AISTech 2016 conference inPittsburgh on May 17. “What the cases do isprovide a level playing field and whenproducts are traded fairly, then prices rise toa fair level. That’s what you see happeningtoday.”
