S&P Dow Jones launches multi-sector commodity index to include energy

S&P Dow Jones Indices has launched a new flagship com- modity index designed to rival the long-standing DJ-UBS Commodity Index. Dow Jones Commodity Index consists of 23 commodities with an equal-weight approach across the agriculture and live- stock, energy and metals sectors, S&P Dow Jones Indices said. The launch of the Dow Jones Commodity Index follows Monday’s expiry of commercial licensing agreement held by S&P Dow Jones Indices for the DJ-UBS Commodity Index.
