According to the Executive Director of the International Coffee Organization, during September coffee prices recorded further increases with the monthly average of the ICO composite indicator price at 163.61 US cents per lb compared to 157.46 in August. The significant upward trend recorded since May 2010 is largely attributable to the firmness of Arabica prices. The average of the ICO composite indicator price during coffee year 2009/10 is 134.41 US cents per lb, representing an increase of 20.2% inrelation to the average of 111.8 cents for the previous coffee year.
