Plots were established at the Montcalm Research Farm in Entrican, MI. The 2012 crop was drybeans and soil type was a Montcalm sandy loam. Sobean variety AG3030 was planted on 16 May at 14 in. spacing and a rate of 184,000 seeds/A. Experimental designwas a randomized complete block with 26 treatments and four replicates per treatment. Plots were six rows wide (7 ft) by 25 ft long. Fungicides were applied with a hand-held spray boom pressurized with CO_2 at 40 psi. The boom consisted of four nozzles (Teejet 11001VS) spaced 20 in. apart and was calibrated to apply 15 gal/A. White mold ratings were made on 1 Oct by scoring disease severity (DS) on all plants from a 10 ft section of the center two rows in each plot. Ratings were based on a 0-3 scale (Grau et al. 1982, Plant Disease, 66:506-508) and converted to a disease index (DIX) that accounted for severity and incidence (DI): DIX = DI*(DS/3). The middle 17 ft of the four center rows were harvested on 27 Oct and yields were adjusted to 13% moisture.Data was analyzed using SAS 9.3 PROC MIXED method(SAS Institute, Cary, NC).
