Evaluation of packaged pre-mixed fungicides for peach brown rot control, 2011

This study was conducted in an orchard located at the Sandhills Research Station, Jackson Springs, NC, using 5-yr-old trees of cv. Rubyprince with normal fruit ripening in mid-Jun. Fungicide treatments were evaluated in a randomized complete block design with 4 single-tree replications. Fungicide treatments were applied at petals off/start of shuck split (29 Mar). No other fungicides were applied until two preharvest sprays on 3 and 9 Jun. Treatments were applied using a Solo 450 Backpack Mist Blowercalibrated to deliver 0.281 gal of spray material per tree site (based on canopy area of 121 sq ft) in 58-60 sec, which provided thorough coverage with spray material begirining to drip. This volume equates to approximately 100 gal/acre.
