Plots were established at the East Central Kansas Experiment Field, Ottawa, KS, and the Harvey County Experiment Field, Hesston, KS. Chemical seed treatments were applied to the seed as a slurry with a commercial seed treater. Seeds were planted on 19Mayat Ottawa and on 6 Jun at Hesston. Plots consisted of four 25-ft long rows at Ottawa and four 30-ft long rows at Hesston. All locations had a 30-in. between-row spacing. There was an in-row spacing of 3.8 in. at Ottawa and 5.6 in. at Hesston. There werefour replications per treatment arranged in a randomized complete block design. Stand counts were made by counting the plants in the middle two rows of each plot on 29 May at Ottawa and 25 Jun at Hesston. Plots were harvested on 1 Nov at Ottawa and 8 Novat Hesston. Yields were adjusted to 13.5% moisture and 56 lb/bu. Stand and yield data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) using Minitab Statistical Software and multiple comparisons of means were performed using Fisher’s Protected least significant difference (LSD at P = 0.05) unless otherwisenoted.
