Knee injuries affect people of all ages causing pain and in some cases chronic disability. Conservative self-management in the hands of the appropriate 'individual' may offer a safe, effective, and affordable alternative to the expenditures of primary care. Inarguably, it is important that individuals with knee pain comprehend their condition, take preventative measures, and in some cases perform simple methods to treat their symptoms. A point of contention, however, may he in whether these individuals can appropriately self-diagnose and manage their own condition.
