This new edition of Patient Practitioner Interaction states its mission is, at least in part, to 'address the frustration of how to help Millenials or Generation Ystudents develop face to face interaction skills'. The issue of communication is, of course, relevant to all health professionals and throughout the text the editor and contributors recognise and promote the role of communication and the therapeutic relationship in augmenting care; however, their assertion that the current generation of trainees may be more lacking in this essential skill than the generations who went before is, perhaps, disingenuous.
