The traditional way to specify process equipmentinvolves the use of spreadsheets to capture and compare technical specifications, rules, constraints and product data that reside in cumbersome (and often quickly outdated) paper catalogs, sales manuals, technical workbooks, performance curves, price lists and computer systems.Given the infinite number of interdependencies that are at play in the design of a typical made-to-order engineered assembly,it is nearly impossible for mere mortals to manage the effort on their own without significant risk of error.
