Tramac Corporation, with headquarters in Parsippany, NJ and offices in Montreal, Canada and Southern California, is one of the pioneers in the world of hydraulic rockbreaking hammers. In the mid-1960's, Tramac started with its first model hydraulic breaker, the BRH-501. The early salesmen pulled trailers behind their pick-up trucks with hydraulic power units that allowed them to easily demonstrate without having to adapt the customer's excavator. At that time, the BRH-501 was the largest hammer available. But, probably its biggest selling feature was its reliability. In those days, hydraulic breakers had a reputation for their lack of reliability. So Tramac got its start by supplying a hydraulic breaker that was highly productive and reliable.
