Novel, Multi-Phase Acrylic Emulsions for Environmenal Friendly Corrosion Protection

The starting point of this worl( was a benchmark study that one should carry out frequently in order to find out if your own products are still up to date. Here, the situation was slightly different - we didn't had a major product in the marketplace but we wanted to understand the performance level of the market leading products. At the start, we quickly figured out that all products that we were testing are single phase polymer dispersions. Some of them being pure acrylics and others being styrene acrylics. All these products have one homogenous polymer phase that would typically have a Tg of >25°C. All these findings lead to the question "why is there no specific multi-phase polymer dispersion for DTM/corrosion protection?"
